    About this role

    Position Summary:

We're looking for an Associate Software Engineer/ Software Engineer ( Front end Development) with working knowledge of Angular and a real understanding of web accessibility standards: Section 508, ADA, and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA.

You'll build secure, responsive, and accessible enterprise web applications that people of all abilities can use, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and other assistive technologies. Accessibility is part of how we build every feature, not something we check at the end. You'll work closely with UX/UI designers, QA, product owners, and other engineers.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Build responsive, accessible web applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
    • Develop UI components that meet WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, Section 508, and ADA requirements.
    • Use semantic HTML and ARIA roles and attributes correctly, and make sure components work with keyboards and screen readers.
    • Find and fix accessibility issues using automated tools and manual testing.
    • Create reusable, maintainable UI components and integrate them with REST APIs.
    • Follow secure coding practices based on OWASP guidelines.
    • Make sure applications work across browsers and on both desktop and mobile.
    • Troubleshoot, debug, and fix frontend issues.
    • Take part in code reviews and testing, and maintain and improve existing applications.
    • Follow team coding standards and Agile/Scrum practices.

    Required Technical Skills :

    Front-End Development

    • Solid grasp of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript
    • Responsive design using CSS Flexbox and Grid

    Angular

    • Working knowledge of a recent Angular version (v16 or later)
    • Understanding of components, services, dependency injection, routing, and forms (template-driven and reactive)
    • Basic understanding of lifecycle hooks
    • Familiarity with RxJS and Observables

    Web Accessibility

    • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA, including the four principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust (POUR)
    • Understanding of Section 508 and ADA requirements for web applications
    • Semantic HTML5 and correct use of ARIA roles, states, and properties
    • Keyboard accessibility: logical tab order, visible focus, focus management in dialogs and single-page app (SPA) route changes, no keyboard traps
    • Accessible forms: labels, error messages, and required-field indicators
    • Color contrast requirements and text alternatives for images and icons
    • Basic hands-on testing with at least one screen reader (NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver)
    • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as axe DevTools, WAVE, or Lighthouse

    Tools and integration

    • Understanding of REST APIs and JSON
    • Basic Git (clone, branch, commit, pull requests)
    • Comfortable using browser developer tools for debugging.

    Preferred Competencies:

    • Angular CDK accessibility features (a11y module, FocusTrap, LiveAnnouncer) or accessible use of Angular Material
    • Accessibility certification or coursework (e.g., IAAP CPACC/WAS, Trusted Tester, or equivalent)
    • Awareness of OWASP Top 10 and secure frontend practices (e.g., XSS prevention, sanitization)
    • Common RxJS operators (e.g., map, switchMap, debounceTime)
    • Unit testing basics (Jasmine/Karma or Jest)
    • npm and the Angular CLI
    • Exposure to frontend performance optimization
    • A GitHub or portfolio project that shows accessible UI work.

    Qualifications:

    • B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering field
    • Working knowledge of Angular and Section 508 / ADA / WCAG standards, from projects, internships, coursework, or work experience
    • Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills
    • Clear communication and teamwork
    • Attention to detail, especially in UI quality and usability
    • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
