About this role
As an Associate Program Manager at MiQ, you will own the governance, configuration, and continuous improvement of our Atlassian Cloud environment while helping delivery squads work with greater clarity, consistency, and predictability.
This is a high-impact role that combines deep technical ownership of Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence Cloud with hands-on Scrum facilitation. You will partner with teams across DnA, Engineering, Product, and Operations to build scalable ways of working, improve delivery visibility, and enable effective cross-functional collaboration.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
Jira platform administration and architecture — 70%:
Configuration, architecture, and platform hygiene:
- Own the end-to-end configuration of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence Cloud.
- Design, build, and maintain workflows, transitions, validators, conditions, post-functions, screen schemes, custom fields, and issue types.
- Configure and manage JSM service desks, request catalogs, customer portals, queues, SLA timers and calendars, and knowledge-base integrations.
- Regularly review custom fields, schemes, boards, and configurations to maintain a clean, scalable, and high-performing platform.
Automation, integrations, and tooling:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Jira Automation rules that reduce manual effort, standardize handoffs, and synchronize ticket states across teams.
- Maintain and enhance integrations across MiQ's enterprise toolchain, including Okta, Slack, GitHub or Bitbucket, webhooks, and REST API connections.
- Use Atlassian REST APIs and scripting to support bulk updates, compliance audits, reporting, and custom data synchronization.
License, storage, and security governance:
- Monitor Atlassian Cloud storage, manage attachment lifecycles, archive aged projects and tickets, and run regular cleanup routines.
- Audit users and licenses to optimize tier usage and de-provision inactive accounts.
- Enforce role-based access controls, manage vendor and external-user permissions, and support adherence to ISO and SOC 2 compliance requirements.
Dashboards and reporting:
- Build advanced JQL filters, shared agile dashboards, and cross-project views that give leadership and team managers clear delivery visibility.
AI-enabled efficiency at scale:
- Identify and implement practical use cases for Atlassian AI capabilities, including Rovo, to improve knowledge discovery, ticket triage, request routing, summarization, and self-service across teams.
- Establish appropriate data, access, and governance guardrails for AI-enabled workflows, and measure adoption, time saved, and service-quality improvements.
Scrum and agile delivery facilitation — 30%:
Sprint ceremonies and cadence:
- Facilitate sprint planning, helping squads define sprint goals, estimate stories, and commit to realistic backlogs based on historical capacity.
- Run focused daily stand-ups that surface progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Coordinate sprint reviews and demos with product owners and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate retrospectives, translate insights into actionable improvements, and track follow-through across delivery cycles.
Backlog health and blocker removal:
- Partner with Product Owners and Squad Leads to maintain healthy backlogs and ensure work meets the Definition of Ready, including clear acceptance criteria.
- Identify, track, and remove delivery blockers, process dependencies, and cross-squad bottlenecks.
- Champion agile practices, team accountability, and adherence to the Definition of Done.
Agile analytics and delivery metrics:
- Track and present delivery metrics such as sprint velocity, burndown and burnup, cumulative flow, cycle time, and lead time.
- Use Jira's native agile reports to provide data-driven visibility into capacity, predictability, and sprint health.
Who are your stakeholders?
The Associate Program Manager's internal customers/stakeholders include:
- Teams across DnA, Engineering, Product, and Operations: the role partners with these teams to build scalable ways of working, improve delivery visibility, and enable effective cross-functional collaboration.

- Strong stakeholder-management and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead meetings, resolve friction, and influence continuous improvement.
