Associate Principal Engineer, Azure Data Engineer

REQUIREMENTS:

• Total experience: 7+ years.
• Strong working experience with architecture and development in Spark, Python/Pyspark, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Gen AI, SQL.
• Support onboarding of files from SORs into Azure Landing Zone using metadata driven ingestion framework.
• Physicalize delta tables required for the Transcend use case using ingestion framework and ADF.
• Physicalize delta tables in the silver and gold layer based on the source to target mappings provided by BAs.
• Support silver layer data modeling activity based on the data model provided by a BA.
• Orchestrate data pipelines in Databricks to load the data into gold layer.
• Support upload of source to target mappings to Service Providers accelerators.
• Support QA and UAT activities including defect triaging and defect fixing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review data quality and completeness against each use cases requirements; set data quality standards and clean-up priorities with the client data owners.
• Confirm data availability, lineage and access for priority use cases (e.g., churn, Customer 360); log gaps with owners and chase closure.
• Run the data-readiness prerequisites for each new domain kick-off.
• Join the client squads in sprints (burst capacity, as required) to prototype the pipelines, feature tables and data products that models and agents need, handing over to the client data engineers.
• Advise on streaming pipelines and shared, reusable data assets and semantic layers; review client designs against standards.
• Unblock dependencies on environments, source systems and integrations alongside the Tech Consultant.
• Review technical design documents for the data foundation with the Platform Architect; contribute to TDA and TTO readiness gates.
• Set data pipeline standards (testing, monitoring, documentation, cost) for the client data teams.
• Support impact measurement by making sure data for baselines and KPIs is reliable.
