Associate Head - Production Machineshop

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Execution: Plan and monitor daily production activities to achieve targets, quality, and delivery schedules.
• CNC & VMC Knowledge: Ensure efficient machine operation, process optimization, and troubleshooting of machining-related issues.
• MC Tooling Knowledge: Manage cutting tools, fixtures, tool life, and tooling cost optimization.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement Kaizen, 4M analysis, and 14Q methodology to improve productivity and reduce losses.
• People Management: Lead production teams, allocate manpower, monitor performance, and develop employee skills.
• Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of machine, tooling, and process problems and implement corrective actions.
• QMS Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, SOPs, control plans, and audit requirements.
• Safety & 5S: Maintain shop-floor safety, discipline, housekeeping, and 5S standards.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Production target achievement and on-time delivery.
• Machine utilization and productivity improvement.
• Reduction in rejection, rework, and downtime.
• Tool life improvement and tooling cost reduction.
• Kaizen implementation and cost savings.
• Manpower productivity and QMS compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• Relevant experience in CNC/VMC machining and production management.
• Good knowledge of tooling, production planning, troubleshooting, Kaizen, 4M, 14Q, QMS, and people management.

Overall Responsibility: To ensure safe, quality-focused, and cost-effective MC Shop operations while achieving production and delivery targets.
