    Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile professional to support our Industrial Decarbonization team in research, analysis, stakeholder coordination, and program implementation. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest and/or professional background in industrial energy transition, energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate policy, clean technologies, and sustainability, with the ability to undertake research and translate findings into clear, high-quality knowledge products.

The role offers the opportunity to work closely with state governments, DISCOMs, industry stakeholders, development partners, and technical experts on initiatives focused on accelerating low-carbon transitions in industrial sectors, particularly MSMEs. The candidate will contribute to research, policy analysis, data collection, stakeholder consultations, pilot programs, capacity-building initiatives, project monitoring, and preparation of technical and policy-oriented outputs.

    Key Responsibilities

The candidate will support the industrial decarbonization team in research, analysis, stakeholder coordination, and program implementation activities, including but not limited to the following:

    • Conduct secondary research and analysis on industrial decarbonization pathways, energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and clean technology adoption in industrial sectors, particularly MSMEs.
    • Support preparation of policy briefs, background notes, technical summaries, literature reviews, and knowledge products related to industrial energy transition.
    • Assist in data collection, quantitative analysis, benchmarking studies, and development of analytical frameworks relevant to industrial decarbonization and climate policy.
    • Support ongoing engagements with state governments, DISCOMs, industry stakeholders, and development partners through research inputs, meeting documentation, and coordination support.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of pilot programs, capacity-building initiatives, and policy interventions under guidance from senior team members.
    • Contribute to the preparation of concept notes, presentations, and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support assessment of policy and regulatory frameworks related to renewable energy deployment, industrial energy efficiency, and low-carbon transitions.
    • Participate in stakeholder consultations, workshops, and discussions with government agencies, industry associations, academic institutions, consultants, and experts.
    • Assist in project monitoring, reporting, documentation, and tracking of deliverables across multiple workstreams.
    • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and external partners for timely execution of project activities.
    • Coordinate with state utilities and other stakeholders/state departments to get the data or input as and when required.
    • Track emerging national and international developments related to climate policy, industrial decarbonization, energy transition, and clean technologies.
    • Demonstrate willingness to build domain expertise in industrial decarbonization through continuous learning, training, and guided exposure to sectoral work in next six months.
    • Undertake additional research and analytical assignments aligned with organizational priorities.

    Qualifications

    • Masters degree in Energy, Environmental Science, Climate Studies, Sustainability, Public Policy, Economics, Development Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
    • At least 23 years of professional experience in research, energy transition, industrial decarbonization, energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change, sustainability, or related areas. Experience working on MSME-focused energy efficiency or energy conservation programmes will be preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in secondary research, data analysis, literature reviews, policy analysis, benchmarking, and preparation of research/technical outputs.
    • Proven ability to develop policy briefs, concept notes, technical reports, presentations, background papers, and other high-quality knowledge products.
    • Good understanding of industrial decarbonization pathways, energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, clean technologies, and climate/energy policy and regulatory frameworks.
    • Experience in coordinating with or engaging government departments, state utilities/DISCOMs, industry associations, development partners, academic institutions, consultants, or other external stakeholders will be an advantage.
    • Strong project coordination, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliverables.
    • Strong command of English and Hindi is required. Candidates with prior experience in the development sector, climate and energy programs, industrial sustainability, public policy, or government engagement will be preferred.
    • The candidate should demonstrate a strong willingness to develop domain expertise in industrial decarbonization and energy transition through continuous learning and hands-on project exposure.
