Associate Consultant - Management Consulting

LFC Consulting is looking for Associate Consultants with 4-8 years of relevant experience to join its Management Consulting Practice.

The role involves working closely with clients in the manufacturing industry across functions such as operations, logistics, sales, and services. The Associate Consultant will work with the Engagement Manager and client teams to identify operational gaps, develop improvement initiatives, and support end-to-end implementation.

The role requires candidates who are comfortable working on the shop floor, interacting with multiple stakeholders, analysing processes and data, and travelling to client locations across India.

Key Responsibilities

• Map existing business processes, operating procedures, and control systems.
• Conduct shop-floor studies and analyse manufacturing processes.
• Identify process gaps, operational issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Analyse available data to identify root causes and quantify the impact of identified issues.
• Develop and modify processes, operating systems, and control mechanisms.
• Develop detailed implementation plans for identified improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with the Engagement Manager to achieve project deliverables.
• Drive client teams towards implementation of agreed solutions.
• Formulate practical recommendations and support their implementation.
• Conduct interviews with client employees, management teams, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate brainstorming sessions and improvement workshops.
• Prepare presentations, analysis, reports, and project documentation.
• Conduct training sessions for client teams.
• Guide client teams in problem identification and problem-solving.
• Monitor implementation progress and provide necessary support to client teams.
• Manage client resources working under assigned workstreams.
• Develop the capabilities of client teams through coaching and on-the-job support.
• Identify potential risks or issues that may impact project deliverables and work with the Engagement Manager to resolve or escalate them.
• Support project management activities during the short-term absence of the project leader.
• Lead and coordinate team members and client resources working on the program.
• Identify and address stakeholder or team-related challenges in coordination with the Engagement Manager.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 4-8 years of relevant professional experience for the Associate Consultant position.
• Experience in manufacturing operations and business/process improvement is essential.
• Candidates with experience as internal consultants or in management/implementation consulting firms will be preferred.
• Strong exposure to Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, Process Excellence, or Manufacturing Excellence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present and communicate effectively with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
• Strong project management and execution skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech from a reputed institute is required.
• MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Management from a reputed institute is preferred.
• Candidates should have a strong academic track record.
• For candidates with significant experience in operational improvement or management consulting, management education may be considered based on relevant experience.

Project & Travel Requirements

• Typical project duration: 20-40 weeks.
• Projects may be located across different parts of India depending on client requirements.
• The role involves working primarily from client locations.
• Candidates may choose a preferred base location, subject to reasonable connectivity for business travel.
• Consultants may be required to travel to and work from client locations for the duration of the project.
• Travel to the base location may generally be planned every fortnight, subject to project requirements.
• Travel arrangements may vary depending on project location and business requirements.
• Candidates should be comfortable working in different locations and travelling at short notice.
