DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Systems Administration Associate III and contribute to global health outcomes through our clinical research services. In this role, youll provide implementation, operational, and maintenance support for enterprise software applications, ensuring a stable systems environment with optimal performance and reliability. Your responsibilities will include supporting analytical software, dedicated hardware, and server-based laboratory applications. Youll resolve application issues, execute change requests, maintain system documentation, and collaborate with colleagues to address technical challenges. REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years of experience in systems administration or equivalent combination of education and training
- Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science or related field
- Technical certification may be required
- Proficiency with server administration and architecture (Windows Server, Linux)
- Knowledge of relational database concepts
- Experience with desktop operating systems and productivity applications (MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio)
- Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex application issues
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate solution implementation across multiple groups
- Experience with laboratory information systems preferred
- Initiative to drive issue resolution to completion
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills quickly
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- May require occasional travel
- Must be able to work in office/laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological materials
- Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in various positions as needed
