Assistant Store Manager

Key Responsibilities :

• Receive, inspect, and verify construction materials delivered to the site/store.
• Maintain accurate records of inward and outward stock transactions.
• Issue materials to site engineers and contractors as per approved material requisitions.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
• Maintain proper storage of cement, steel, electrical, plumbing, and finishing materials to prevent damage or wastage.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock verification.
• Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), and stock reports.
• Coordinate with the Procurement and Accounts departments for material reconciliation and invoice verification.
• Track material consumption and report shortages, excess stock, or discrepancies.
• Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO practices wherever applicable.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety, and security standards within the store area.
• Handle vendor material returns and damaged material documentation.
• Maintain inventory using ERP software or Microsoft Excel.
• Support project teams by ensuring timely availability of required materials.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and inventory control procedures.

Required Skills :

• Knowledge of inventory management and store operations.
• Basic understanding of construction materials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc., if applicable).
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under deadlines in a construction site environment.

Preferred Knowledge

• Construction materials such as Cement, Steel, Electrical, Plumbing, Tiles, Paints, Hardware, and Finishing Materials.
• Stock auditing and inventory reconciliation.
• Material documentation and reporting.
