About this role
Role Overview
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing, vendor management, and cost control across all
categories needed to run student hostels — food & beverage, housekeeping, furniture & fixtures, linen,
maintenance supplies, security services, and facility equipment. This role requires someone who
understands both hospitality-grade procurement standards and the budget discipline needed in a scaling,
asset-light business.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute procurement strategy across F&B, housekeeping, linen, furniture, electronics,
and maintenance categories for multiple hostel properties
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and service providers (kitchen suppliers, laundry
services, pest control, security agencies, furniture vendors, etc.)
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to optimize cost without compromising quality or
safety standards
• Manage vendor relationships and conduct periodic performance reviews (quality, delivery timelines,
compliance)
• Set up and maintain procurement SOPs, approval workflows, and inventory/reorder systems across
properties
• Coordinate with property/hostel managers to forecast demand and prevent stock-outs or
overstocking
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI, safety, and other statutory requirements for food and facility-related
purchases
• Track procurement budgets, generate cost reports, and identify savings opportunities
• Manage new hostel launch procurement (furniture, kitchen setup, amenities) within timelines and
budget
• Build a centralized vendor database and rate contracts to standardize purchasing across locations
• Evaluate and implement procurement software/tools for better visibility and control as the portfolio
scales
