About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase professional with over 5 years of experience in procurement within the nutraceutical, chemical or flavour sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in sourcing botanical raw materials and industry-specific packaging, and will align procurement with stringent quality assurance standards.

Role & responsibilities

• Source and procure botanical raw materials (herbs, roots, seeds, spices and liquid extracts) and compliant packaging (bottles, pouches, cartons and labels) for nutraceutical and flavour production.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and long-term supply contracts with domestic and international vendors to achieve cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure all materials and packaging meet safety standards and statutory regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate vendor performance through audits and KPIs, with a focus on On-Time Delivery (OTD) and material defect rates.
• Align procurement with production forecasts and inventory levels, resolve supply delays and quality issues, and monitor market and crop-season trends to identify alternative suppliers.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 6 years of procurement experience in the nutraceutical, chemical or flavour industries.
• Proven expertise in sourcing botanical raw materials, extracts and specialised packaging.
• Strong knowledge of quality standards, documentation (COAs, MSDS) and regulatory compliance (GMP, FSSAI, FDA).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel for inventory and cost tracking.
• Demonstrated track record in cost negotiation, contract management and vendor evaluation.
• Strong ability to collaborate with QA/QC and manufacturing teams.
