Assistant Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Manage and oversee end-to-end Record to Report (R2R) processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strict adherence to closing timelines.
• Review and approve complex journal entries, provisions, intercompany transactions, and high-risk balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of R2R analysts, overseeing performance management and skill development.
• Manage the consolidation of financial data across business units and eliminate intercompany balances.
• Ensure strict compliance with SOX controls, internal financial policies, and relevant accounting frameworks (US GAAP / IFRS / Ind AS).
• Coordinate directly with internal and external auditors, providing complex data, schedules, and explanations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate manual routines, and implement best practices using modern financial tools.
• Partner with finance leadership to deliver management information systems (MIS) reporting and performance insights.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Accounting/Finance; professional certifications (CA, CPA, CMA, or MBA Finance) are highly preferred.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in GL/R2R operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
• Advanced expertise in ERP platforms (SAP FICO or Oracle Enterprise) and data analysis tools.
• Thorough knowledge of statutory compliance, financial reporting regulations, and risk mitigation.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and change management capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
