Assistant Manager

Role

Assistant Manager - Finance to independently own compliance, audit, payments, and MIS at a fast-scaling fintech. This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting to the Finance Controller ideal for someone who wants deep functional ownership, not a people-management track.

Responsibilities

• Manage GST, TDS, ROC, and Income Tax compliance and filings
• Drive statutory and internal audits, keeping documentation audit-ready
• Own end-to-end payments, including maker-checker controls and reconciliations
• Manage vendor relationships and vendor payment cycles
• Own budgeting and P&L monitoring against plan
• Build and maintain MIS reports for leadership
• Handle AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation

Qualifications

• 5–6 years in accounting, compliance, audit, and payments; MBA not required
• Semi-qualified CA (appeared for CA Finals) preferred, not currently appearing further
• Prior experience at a Series A/B funded startup (B2B or D2C service business) preferred
• Hands-on with GST, TDS, and statutory/internal audit processes
• Proficient in Tally, Advanced Excel, and Google Sheets
• Comfortable owning complete finance workflows independently
• Prior experience within a larger finance team (15+) is a plus
