Assistant Manager

Role & responsibilities :

1. Kiln & Plant Operation (CCR)

• Monitor and control kiln, raw mill, coal mill, and cement mill operations from CCR.
• Ensure stable kiln operation with optimum parameters (temperature, pressure, feed rate).
• Maintain targeted clinker production and quality.
• Coordinate with field operators for smooth plant functioning.

2. Process Optimization

• Analyze process parameters and identify areas for improvement.
• Optimize fuel consumption, power consumption, and raw mix proportioning.
• Ensure efficient heat and material balance across the system.
• Implement corrective actions to reduce process deviations and losses.

3. Production Planning & Target Achievement

• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
• Ensure achievement of clinker and cement production targets.
• Minimize downtime and maximize equipment utilization.

4. Quality Control Coordination

• Work closely with Quality Control team to maintain clinker and cement quality.
• Adjust process parameters based on lab results (LSF, SM, AM, fineness, etc.).
• Ensure consistency in product quality as per standards.

5. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

• Identify process abnormalities (e.g., coating formation, ring formation, cyclone blockage).
• Take immediate corrective actions to stabilize operations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.

6. Energy Efficiency & Cost Control

• Monitor specific heat consumption (SHC) and specific power consumption (SPC).
• Optimize fuel mix (coal, petcoke, AFR if applicable).
• Implement energy-saving initiatives and best practices.

7. Team Coordination & Supervision

• Guide and supervise CCR operators and field staff.
• Ensure proper communication between shifts.
• Conduct training for junior engineers and operators.

8. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain shift logs, production reports, and incident reports.
• Analyze daily production data and submit MIS reports.
• Track KPIs like output, downtime, quality, and energy consumption.

9. Shutdown & Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with maintenance team during shutdowns.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper startup and shutdown procedures are followed.

Preferred candidate profile

Anyone working as a Senior Engineer/ Officer in process and production department (CCR) with an experience of 8+ years in cement industry is elligible
