Assistant Manager - Training

Reporting To: Manager E&T
Role Purpose
To implement and strengthen the Education & Training Pillar by developing Gemba
competencies across furniture and mattress manufacturing processes (EW, SW,Sofa, Office chair, Mattress) improving skill and enabling multi-skilling, supporting
sustaining 5S workplace management, TPM deployment to reduce losses in productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety and enhancing the morale of employees.
Key Responsibilities
E&T Pillar Deployment:
Drive E&T pillar activities aligned with TPM implementation roadmap.
Prepare weekly training calendar based on skill gap analysis
Build knowledge and skill of operators and helpers
Skill matrix preparation:
Skill set identification in each process
Question paper preparation
Conducting the examination
Training Execution:
Training calendar preparation
Training execution
Multi-Skilling & Flexibility:
Drive multi-skill certification to improve manpower flexibility across lines.
Reduce dependency on specific operators.
Support line balancing and manpower optimization.
Shopfloor Training System:
Implement strong On-the-Job Training (OJT) systems.
Develop and deploy:
o One Point Lessons (OPLs)
o Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
o Visual work instructions
Ensure training effectiveness at Gemba.
Training Effectiveness & KPI Tracking:
Track:
o Skill matrix improvement (%)
o Training plan vs actual
o Reduction in skill-related breakdowns, defects, accidents
o First-time-right (FTR) improvement
Conduct periodic assessments and certification.
