Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Sourcing based out of Chennai to drive supplier development, strategic sourcing, supplier onboarding, and procurement activities for electrical components. The ideal candidate will have strong techno-commercial expertise, excellent negotiation skills, and hands-on experience in sourcing electrical panels, cables, Motors and related electrical items.

The role requires an individual who can effectively manage supplier relationships, identify new sourcing opportunities, negotiate commercially competitive terms, and support the organization in achieving cost, quality, and delivery objectives.

Roles and responsibilities:

Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers in line with business and sourcing requirements.

Manage the supplier onboarding process, including supplier evaluation, qualification, and documentation.

Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for electrical components and materials.

Source and procure electrical panels, cables, and other electrical items.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.

Conduct techno-commercial evaluations of suppliers and quotations.

Lead commercial negotiations to achieve competitive pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules.

Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, sourcing opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.

Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Projects, and other internal stakeholders to understand material and technical requirements.

Monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.

Ensure sourcing activities are aligned with organizational procurement policies and business objectives.

Maintain accurate supplier and procurement information in the ERP system.

Support continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives within the sourcing function.

Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete for compliance and auditing purposes.

Ensure that all procurement activities comply with Cavotecs policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

8-12 years of experience in sourcing/procurement within the engineering industry.

Engineering qualification, preferably Electrical Engineering.

Proven experience in sourcing electrical panels, cables, and electrical components.

Demonstrated experience in supplier development and onboarding.

Strong experience in strategic sourcing and commercial negotiations.

Good techno-commercial knowledge.

Working knowledge of ERP systems.

Knowledge of Six Sigma/continuous improvement methodologies will be an advantage.

Proficiency in English, Tamil, and Hindi(Preferable).
