Assistant Manager - Purchase Department

Role & responsibilities

• Look after all buying activities for the company from finding suppliers to placing orders to making sure goods arrive on time.
• Check and approve purchase orders raised by purchase department, making sure the details and pricing are correct.
• Build good relationships with suppliers bring in new vendors, review their performance regularly, and make sure the company is getting the best deal.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers and work on ways to reduce costs.
• Make sure all purchases follow company rules, are properly documented, and are ready for audits.
• Work closely with other teams like finance, operations, and stores to make sure materials are available when needed.
• Use SAP Hana S/4 (ERP) for day-to-day procurement tasks raising purchase orders, tracking deliveries, managing vendor data, and generating reports.
• Prepare reports on purchase activities, track performance numbers, and share updates with senior management.
• Guide and support junior team members in their day-to-day work.
• Take on any other tasks given by the senior management as per the role.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Commerce or relevant discipline
• 10+ years of experience in Purchase/Procurement
• Experience in manufacturing industry preferred
• Hands-on experience in SAP S/4 HANA
