Assistant Manager - New Product Development (Weld Shop)

Role & responsibilities

• Project Execution: Lead end-to-end NPD milestones, tracking timeline compliance from design concept to plant handover.
• RFQ & Budgeting: Prepare RFQ/SOR packages, Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBA), and project CAPEX for weld cell installations; secure executive approvals.
• Line Setup & Operations: Supervise daily shop-floor welding project execution, tooling readiness, and technical manpower allocation.
• Buy-Off & PPAP: Oversee tool/line buy-offs, lead PPAP validation, and ensure seamless handover to the serial production operations team.
• Client & CFT Alignment: Serve as the technical point of contact for customer reviews, design changes, and cross-functional team coordination.
• Value Engineering & Safety: Drive VAVE initiatives to optimize cycle times and manufacturing costs while maintaining plant safety standards.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 8+ years hands-on experience in automotive NPD environments with strong expertise in welding cells and tooling projects.
• Proven track record leading PPAP submissions, customer interface, and Capex budgeting.
• Working proficiency in SAP HANA and 3D modeling/design suites.
