Role Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, maintenance and smooth functioning of mechanical equipment and utilities at the plant, with a focus on minimizing downtime and improving equipment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment, machinery and utilities.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize machine downtime and production losses.
• Maintain maintenance schedules, equipment history and related documentation.
• Ensure availability of critical spares and maintenance materials in coordination with the stores team.
• Support installation, commissioning and modification of new machinery and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and statutory requirements related to engineering and maintenance.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring equipment failures.
• Support initiatives for energy efficiency, cost optimization and continuous improvement.

Experience & Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7-10 years of experience in plant engineering/maintenance, preferably in FMCG, Food & Beverage, Dairy or Ice Cream manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in production machinery, utilities, refrigeration/HVAC and mechanical maintenance will be preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and coordination skills.
