Assistant Manager -Import Purchase

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for the US plant, including sourcing, RFQ/RFP, negotiations, PO management, and supplier follow-up.
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
• Drive cost reduction and value-engineering initiatives through negotiations, alternate sourcing, localization, and supplier development.
• Develop and maintain spend analysis, supplier performance dashboards, and procurement reports.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQ, warranty, and other commercial conditions to maximize business value.

Key Performance Indicators

• Procurement cost savings / cost avoidance
• Supplier OTIF and service level
• Purchase price variance
• Strategic sourcing and alternate supplier development

Qualifications & Experience

• 610+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in international procurement and India–US supply chains will be an advantage.
• Strong experience in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, sourcing, and vendor
• Strong stakeholder-management skills with the ability to work across India and US time zones.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
