Assistant Manager - Head of Finance role

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Book Closure

• Assist in the timely closure of books of accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Support finance operations for the Ahmedabad plants and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure accurate accounting of revenue and capital transactions.

2. Plant Finance & Business Partnering

• Work closely with Plant Heads and key stakeholders to drive plant profitability and financial performance.
• Provide financial insights and support decision-making through analysis of business performance.
• Develop a strong understanding of plant operations and business dynamics.

3. Financial Reporting & MIS

• Prepare monthly customized MIS reports, including analysis of actual performance against budget and forecast.
• Generate reports for management review and support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor key financial indicators and highlight areas requiring corrective actions.

4. Profitability, Costing & Margin Analysis

• Conduct SKU-wise and customer-wise profitability and margin analysis.
• Support implementation and monitoring of cost control measures.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and costing activities.
• Analyze financial variances and recommend improvement opportunities.

5. Working Capital Management

• Monitor and analyze working capital components including receivables, payables, and inventory.
• Coordinate with Marketing teams for accounts receivable management and Procurement teams for accounts payable management.
• Support cash flow planning and working capital optimization initiatives.

6. Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Direct and Indirect Tax requirements, including GST, TDS, and other statutory regulations.
• Support timely filing of returns and compliance-related activities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on taxation matters.

7. Audit & Annual Accounts

• Assist in timely closure of annual accounts and financial reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with Internal Auditors, Statutory Auditors, and other external agencies.
• Ensure audit readiness through proper documentation and reconciliations.

8. Production & Inventory Accounting

• Monitor and ensure timely completion of production and consumption entries.
• Review inventory-related accounting transactions and reconciliations.
• Support controls around inventory valuation and reporting.

9. ERP & Systems

• Utilize Microsoft D365 for finance and accounting operations.
• Support process improvements and system-driven controls to enhance operational efficiency.

• Timely and accurate closure of monthly and annual financial books.
• Effective MIS reporting and variance analysis against budget and forecast.
• Improvement in plant profitability through cost monitoring and margin analysis.
• Efficient working capital management and cash flow control.
• Compliance with taxation, statutory, and audit requirements.
• Timely completion and accuracy of production, consumption, and inventory accounting activities.

Candidate Profile:

Qualification: M. Com / MBA (Finance) / Inter-CA

Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong understanding of Profit & Loss Accounts and Balance Sheet management.
• Sound knowledge of Budgeting, Forecasting, Costing, and Variance Analysis.
• Exposure to Direct & Indirect Taxation including GST and TDS.
• Good understanding of Working Capital Management.
• Strong accounting concepts with exposure to IFRS & IndAS preferred.
• Hands-on experience in Microsoft D365 ERP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
