Job Description- Global Mobility Services

Position title:

In Global Mobility Services (“GMS”)

(Tax & Social security advisory & compliances for Expatriate and Indian employees)

Location Pune

Liaises with (Internally):

Colleagues in (i) the same service line; (ii) other service lines

Colleagues in Grant Thornton offices – within India and overseas

Liaises with (Externally):

Authorities in Income Tax Department, Clients (Existing & Proposed), occasionally with Provident Fund Department

Primary purpose of the role:

• Assisting in growing GPS practice (Expat tax, New Labor Codes, Immigration, Social Security, Payroll, etc) in Pune
• team management
• end-to-end project management which may include preparation of Tax computations and assisting in Documentation / Compliance/ Assessments/ Advisory work for employee / Expatriate tax & Social Security, FEMA, New Labor codes etc.

Major responsibilities & deliverables: 

• Key role in growing GPS (Expat tax, New Labor Codes, Immigration, Social Security, Payroll, etc.) in Pune with a specific target
• Assist in pitches like preparing proposals, respond to Request for Proposals etc.
• Client meetings in person and management
• Team management
• Management of project time cost
• Handling end-to-end individual tax compliances for expatriates (inbound and outbound) like preparation of tax computations, quarterly withholding tax returns, withholding tax certificate, India Income Tax return etc.
• Assisting clients in obtaining in tax registrations, Form-30C, Form-30A, Certificate of Coverage
• Review updates based on reviews of tax case laws, CBDT Circulars & notifications, updates from EPFO, etc
• Developing position papers related to taxation of individuals
• Delivering new labour codes related assignments

Skills Required:

• Strong Tax Technical Skills including taxation of individuals with a focus on taxation of employment income
• Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal/written communication, inter-personal skills
