Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounting

Role & responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and journal entries.
• Handle bank, vendor, customer, and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly MIS, financial reports, schedules, and management reports.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure timely GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance and coordinate with consultants wherever required.
• Support audit and tax-related activities, including coordination with internal/external auditors and tax consultants.
• Monitor receivables, payables, outstanding balances, and cash flow.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required financial data and documentation.
• Review accounting entries and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Coordinate with banks regarding payments, collections, bank statements, and other finance-related matters.
• Identify accounting discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
• Assist management with financial analysis and decision-support reports.
• Support process improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives within the Finance & Accounts function.
• Explore and implement AI-enabled tools and solutions to improve accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and other finance processes.
• Effectively manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities while ensuring timely completion of critical finance activities.
• Proactively address and resolve operational challenges in a fast-growing and evolving organization.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 5-7 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GST, TDS, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit, and taxation.

• Hands-on experience with MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis.

• Experience with Tally, Zoho Books, or other accounting ERP systems.

• Experience in audit and tax compliance/coordination.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex and changing business requirements.

• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities effectively.

• Experience working in a fast-growing, dynamic, or start-up environment and managing evolving business challenges.

• Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Good communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience or exposure to AI adoption, finance automation, process improvement, or digital transformation initiatives.

• Experience in ERP implementation or process automation will be an added advantage.

• Experience in Fintech / Banking / Financial Services will be an advantage.

• CA Inter / CMA Inter / M.Com qualification will be an added advantage. • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and high-growth organization and take ownership of new challenges.
