Assistant Manager Export Finance

Responsibilities

• Manage EDPMS outstanding and compliance for all export shipments, from shipment/invoice stage through realization and EDPMS closure.

• Track shipping bills and coordinate with AD banks for EDPMS closure, shipping bill amendments, realization timeline extensions, write-offs, corrections, and other export-related regulatory requirements.

• Track overdue export bills, follow up with relevant stakeholders, and ensure timely resolution and closure.

• Manage Inward Remittance Messages (IRMs) and export realization by mapping remittances against respective export invoices/shipping bills and coordinating with banks for IRM generation, amendments, and mapping.

• Investigate and resolve unmatched or partially matched remittances and maintain an invoice-wise export realization tracker.

• Ensure compliance with export documentation requirements, including BRC generation/tracking, export benefit claims, and RODTEP. Manage year-wise RODTEP data, pending follow-ups, and scrip generation for consumption/sale.

• Handle bank disposals for collections received, including data entry on the ICICI portal, and coordinate with banks on export receipts, payments, charges, and transaction-related queries.

• Act as the primary finance coordination point with AD banks / relationship managers for EDPMS, IRMs/ORMs, export bill realization, forex conversions, forward contracts, shipping bill issues, documentation, and regulatory queries.

• Review bank advices, SWIFT messages, and transaction confirmations related to export receipts/payments, and maintain a tracker of open bank queries and pending actions.

• Monitor foreign currency receivables and payables, track realized and unrealized forex gains/losses, and support forex accounting, revaluation, and reconciliation at month-end.

• Prepare and maintain a comprehensive export tracker covering invoices, shipping bills, shipment dates, currency/value, IRMs, realization, outstanding balances, EDPMS status, bank mapping, overdue days, and expected realization dates.

• Prepare periodic export realization MIS, highlighting overdue receivables, unmapped IRMs, pending EDPMS closures, and other exceptions. Provide inputs for monthly MIS and month-end closing.

• Perform regular reconciliation between export sales ledger, customer outstanding, bank statements, IRMs, EDPMS, and internal export trackers, and resolve any discrepancies.

• Ensure appropriate accounting of export receipts, forex gains/losses, bank charges, subsidy income, and related transactions.

• Track and reconcile customer accounts, oversee customer aging and outstanding, and support monthly provisions/accruals and finalization of accounts.

• Coordinate with Export Sales, banks, Finance, and other stakeholders for documentation, data requirements, and timely closure of export-related transactions.

Financial Systems & Reporting

• Use Zoho Books for financial reporting, ledger scrutiny, reconciliation, provisions, and compliance.

• Prepare monthly MIS and support month-end and year-end closing activities related to exports and forex.

Experience & Skills

• Experience in Export Finance, Export Accounting, Trade Finance, or International Finance.

• Strong knowledge of EDPMS, IRMs, export realization, BRC, shipping bills, and export documentation/compliance.

• Knowledge of forex accounting, bank reconciliations, and foreign currency transactions.

• Knowledge of export benefit schemes, including RODTEP.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and preferably Zoho Books.

• Experience in coordinating with AD banks / bank relationship managers on export-related matters.

• Strong reconciliation, MIS, follow-up, and stakeholder management skills.
