Assistant General Manager Legal

Role Purpose

To manage all legal, regulatory and compliance matters such as land acquisition, project development, commercial transactions, customer documentation, litigation management and regulatory approvals.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Advisory

• Draft, review, negotiate and finalize agreements relating to land acquisition, joint development, collaboration, development management, lease, licence, conveyance, sale, construction, EPC, O&M, facilities management and other commercial arrangements.
• Conduct legal due diligence and title verification for land acquisitions and development projects.

Project Development

• Provide legal support throughout the lifecycle of residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use projects.
• Advise on development rights, land use, zoning, licences, approvals and regulatory compliances.
• Review customer documentation including allotment letters, builder-buyer agreements, conveyance deeds and ancillary documents.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Advise on applicable laws including RERA, Transfer of Property Act, Registration Act, Stamp Act, Companies Act, Contract Act and state development regulations.
• Liaise with statutory authorities including revenue authorities, development authorities, municipal corporations and registration authorities.
• Ensure legal compliance across business operations.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

• Manage civil, commercial, consumer, RERA, arbitration, criminal and regulatory litigation.
• Coordinate with external counsel and oversee litigation strategy.
• Review pleadings, evidence, legal notices and settlement documentation.
• Monitor litigation budgets and reporting.

Desired Qualifications

• LL.B. (Mandatory); LL.M. preferred.
• 10-15 years' post-qualification experience, preferably in the real estate, infrastructure or construction sector.
• Prior experience in a leading real estate developer, infrastructure company or reputed law firm.
