Assistant General Manager (AGM)

Position Summary

The AGM Accounts will lead the accounting, costing, and financial control function for KLRF Foods, ensuring accurate books of accounts, robust internal controls, timely statutory compliance, and reliable MIS to support plant and business-level decision-making. The role requires strong hands-on command of manufacturing/process costing, working capital management, and statutory/tax compliance, along with the ability to lead and mentor a finance & accounts team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, bank reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing for KLRF Foods.
• Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS) and Group reporting timelines.
• Drive product/process costing, standard costing, variance analysis, and yield/wastage tracking specific to food processing operations.
• Manage working capital – inventory valuation, receivables, payables, and cash flow planning – to optimize the division's liquidity position.
• Ensure timely and accurate statutory compliance: GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF/ESI liaison with HR, and other applicable regulatory filings.
• Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits; ensure timely closure of audit observations and strengthen internal control systems.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and MIS reports (plant-wise P&L, cost sheets, variance reports) for review by the Finance Head and Management.
• Liaise with banks and financial institutions for working capital limits, term loans, LC/BG facilities, and related documentation.
• Support pricing decisions and margin analysis by providing accurate product costing and profitability data to the business/sales teams.
• Implement and monitor ERP-based accounting processes; drive automation and process improvement in accounting workflows.
• Lead, train, and mentor the accounts and costing team; ensure adequate segregation of duties and documentation of SOPs.
• Coordinate with Corporate Finance/CFO office on Group-level consolidation, policy alignment, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, delegation of authority (DOA), and company policies across the division.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, direct & indirect taxation, and manufacturing/process costing principles.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Tally/Oracle or equivalent) and advanced MS Excel for financial modeling and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support capability with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated people-management and team-leadership skills, with the ability to build and mentor a finance team.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills to liaise with plant heads, corporate finance, auditors, and banks.
• High integrity, ownership, and ability to work independently in a plant/manufacturing setting.Role & responsibilities
