Assistant Director - Medical Coding

Position: Assistant Director Medical Coding & Revenue Cycle Management

Experience: 15 to 20 Years

Certification: Mandatory AAPC Certification (CPC/COC/CIC or equivalent)

Key Requirements

• 15 to 20 years of overall experience in Medical Coding and Revenue Cycle Management.
• Mandatory AAPC certification with a strong understanding of coding compliance and industry standards.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale operations with a team size of 150200+ FTEs.
• Extensive multispecialty coding experience, including:
• Evaluation & Management (E&M)
• Surgery (Major and Minor Procedures)
• Denials Management and Resolution
• Strong domain expertise across coding operations, billing workflows, and revenue cycle processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients/customers and senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in customer relationship management, operational governance, and service delivery.
• Hands-on experience in:
• Transition Management
• Process Migration and Stabilization
• Revenue Optimization Initiatives
• Productivity and Quality Management
• Workforce Planning and Performance Management

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end coding and RCM operations for multispecialty accounts.
• Drive operational excellence, quality, productivity, and SLA compliance.
• Manage client communications, governance meetings, and business reviews.
• Lead transitions, process improvements, and revenue enhancement initiatives.
• Mentor and develop large teams while ensuring employee engagement and retention.
• Ensure coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to client requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational and financial objectives.
