Role & responsibilities

Costing & Estimation

• Review RFQs, tenders, specifications, and customer requirements from Defence

customers, shipyards, and OEM partners.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, bought-outs, fabrication,

machining, assembly, testing, logistics, warranty, and overheads.

• Develop BOMs, cost sheets, and pricing models for new bids, repeat orders, and

Product Life Support opportunities.

• Support bid reviews by identifying commercial risks, assumptions, and cost

drivers.

Supplier Development & Cost Optimization

• Source and evaluate supplier quotations through techno-commercial analysis.
• Develop and maintain a qualified vendor database for mechanical, hydraulic,

electrical, and marine equipment.

• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms to achieve cost

competitiveness.

• Identify localization and alternate sourcing opportunities to reduce costs and

improve supply resilience.

Commercial & Post-Award Support

• Support preparation of commercial proposals, budgetary quotations, and cost

justifications.

• Establish project cost baselines and track actual costs against estimates.
• Assess cost impacts arising from engineering changes, scope variations, and

customer-driven modifications.

• Continuously improve costing models using actual project data and lessons

learned.

Systems & Governance

• Maintain standardized costing templates, historical cost databases, and vendor

rate records.

• Ensure all estimates are traceable, documented, and audit-ready.
• Support management with profitability analysis and pricing strategy

recommendations.
