Assistant Category Manager

Role & responsibilities :

Concept Development: Research & brainstorm to conceptualize new product ideas that meet market trends and consumer needs.

Market Research: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities, understand the competitive landscape, and forecast homecare trends. Understand the current business trends in the BB platform to take actions.

Formulation and Testing: Work closely with R&D team of external suppliers to develop product formulations. Oversee testing for efficacy, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Project Management: Manage the product development process from ideation to launch, including timelines, Sales forecasting, margin calculation, launch schemes and cross-functional coordination(like supply chain , marketing, replenishment for product availability)

Packaging and Design: Partner with packaging specialist and negotiate for best options available or create some new innovative ideas in product packaging. Benchmark packing cost of existing or new products and negotiate with the supplier along with packaging specialist.

Supplier and Vendor Relations: Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality ingredients, materials, and production standards. The candidate needs to have a great understanding of the supplier base and onboard best of the partners in BB eco system.

Regulatory Compliance: The candidate should be aware with relevant industry regulations and standards, including safety, labelling, and environmental requirements.

Performance Monitoring: Analyse product performance metrics and consumer feedback to continuously improve existing products and inform future development.

Preferred candidate profile :

Experience: Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in product development within the homecare industry/personal care/babycare.

Skills:

• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent Excel Skill with the use of different excel functions, pivot table, power point presentation.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. Should be good in maths and understand costing, margins, profit, loss.
