Assistant Account Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.
• Work on SAP ERP for accounting transactions, financial data management, ledger scrutiny, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, MIS reports, expense reports, and other management reports.
• Handle vendor payments, invoice verification, employee reimbursements, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor and maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, and other tax-related regulations.
• Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, auditors, and other stakeholders for accounting and financial matters.
• Analyse expenses, identify discrepancies, and support cost control and budget monitoring activities.
• Assist the Accounts Manager in financial planning, internal audits, process improvements, and other accounting-related assignments.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
• 45 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a corporate or service-based organisation.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP is mandatory. Candidates should be comfortable handling accounting entries, financial transactions, ledger reports, and reconciliations in SAP.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, including data analysis, lookup functions, and financial reporting.
• Experience in vendor management, payment processing, account reconciliation, and month-end closing.
• Strong analytical, organisational, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to maintain accuracy, meet deadlines, and handle multiple accounting activities efficiently.
