About the Client
Our client is a leading North American transportation and logistics provider. It delivers premium, time-critical freight services to freight forwarders, airlines, third-party logistics providers and large enterprise shippers. Core business applications run on IBM i, and the client is strengthening its development and support team in Mysuru.
The Role
We re looking for an experienced AS/400 Developer to develop, enhance and support enterprise applications on the IBM iSeries platform. You ll work closely with business users, analysts and technical teams. You ll deliver changes, keep production running smoothly, and contribute to modernisation and upgrade work.
What You ll Do
- Develop, maintain and support applications on IBM AS/400 (iSeries).
- Program in RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CLLE, COBOL/400 and DB2/400 .
- Analyse business requirements and design technical solutions.
- Deliver enhancements, debugging, testing and production support.
- Manage batch job scheduling, job monitoring and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot system and application issues and resolve them quickly.
- Work with cross-functional teams on integration and deployment.
- Take part in code reviews and uphold coding standards.
- Maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.
- Support migration, modernisation and system upgrade activities.
What You ll Bring
Essential
- 6+ years of hands-on AS/400 / IBM iSeries development.
- Expertise in RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE and free-format RPG , plus CL/CLLE.
- Strong knowledge of DB2/400, SQL and Query/400 .
- Experience with debugging and performance optimisation.
- Knowledge of batch processing and job scheduling.
- Familiarity with source control and change management tools.
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
Desirable
- API integration and web services on IBM i.
- Experience on modernisation projects and IBM upgrades.
- Aldon, Turnover or similar change management tools.
- Experience in logistics, manufacturing, finance or retail.
