Role Description The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will work full time on-site at Xelec’s Gurugram location, collaborating closely with cross-functional hardware, software, and R&D teams. In this role, the engineer will design, implement, and optimize AI models for applications such as pattern recognition, computer vision, and natural language interfaces, integrating them into smart electronics and semiconductor solutions. Daily responsibilities include building and training neural network architectures, evaluating and refining model performance, developing production-grade software components, and contributing to custom AI solutions for client projects. The engineer will also support data collection and preprocessing pipelines, participate in system-level design reviews, document models and workflows, and help ensure robust, scalable deployment of AI features in real products.

Qualifications

• A very strong foundation in AI, Computer Vision, etc.
• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, with experience in designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining production-quality code.
• Proficiency in Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks, including model design, training, evaluation, and optimization for real-world use cases.
• Hands-on experience with Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), such as text classification, information extraction, or conversational interfaces.
• Solid understanding of AI/ML fundamentals (supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, data preprocessing) and familiarity with common frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Understanding of the Mathematics behind AI, LLMs, Transformers, etc.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and work on-site in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
• Experience in embedded systems, semiconductor design, or deploying AI on edge devices is a plus.
• Exposure to version control, CI/CD, and good software engineering practices; prior work on R&D or patentable technologies is beneficial.
