Skill Set for AI Engineer / Python Developer

Primary

- Strong Python development skills for data engineering, including Pandas or Polars and PySpark

- Python API development experience using frameworks and libraries such as FastAPI, FastMCP, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and Requests

- Experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines and workflows

- Exposure to Azure Databricks AI capabilities, such as Vector Search, Genie, and Agent Bricks

- Familiarity with core Databricks technologies, including Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows

- Hands-on agentic AI experience using frameworks such as LangGraph and Pydantic AI, including building RAG applications or natural-language-to-SQL (NL2SQL) agents

- Strong SQL development and performance-tuning skills, including query-plan analysis, indexing, and query optimization

- Experience with automated testing and Python code-quality practices, including Pytest, type checking, linting, and dependency management

- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including requirements gathering, technical communication, and managing evolving requirements

- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and agents, such as Claude Code, Codex, Factory Droid, and GitHub Copilot

Secondary

- UI development experience using React.js and Module Federation

- Experience with Azure services such as Key Vault, Application Insights, Microsoft Entra ID, and Azure Storage

- Knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data architecture

- Familiarity with agent architectures and patterns, such as ReAct, Plan-and-Execute, Deep Agents, multi-agent systems, and agent harnesses

- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

- Familiarity with containerization and deployment technologies, particularly Docker

- Familiarity with application security, dependency scanning, and container scanning tools such as Mend, Checkmarx, and Aqua Security

- Experience with application observability, including structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and correlation IDs

- Experience working with PostgreSQL and Redis, including database migrations and caching patterns

- Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, and branching strategies

- Experience working in Agile development environments, including sprint planning, estimation, and iterative delivery
