Area Sales Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
• Manage and develop distributor and dealer networks to ensure effective market coverage.
• Drive primary and secondary sales growth across the assigned area.
• Lead, motivate, and monitor the performance of the sales team.
• Ensure effective outlet coverage, beat planning, and route productivity.
• Expand distribution and develop new outlets/markets.
• Ensure product availability, visibility, merchandising, and proper shelf execution.
• Implement company schemes, promotions, and trade marketing activities.
• Monitor distributor stock, inventory levels, and outstanding payments.
• Track competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and market trends.
• Prepare sales forecasts, market reports, and performance reviews.
• Build strong relationships with distributors, retailers, wholesalers, and key customers.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate/MBA in Sales & Marketing preferred.
• 3-6 years of experience in FMCG sales, preferably in a similar ASM role.
• Strong knowledge of distributor management and general trade.
• Good leadership, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Target-oriented with strong execution and team-management abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
