Area Operations Manager - FTL

Role & responsibilities

• Manage fleet utilisation, vehicle availability, and reduction of downtime.
• Oversee route planning, load planning, and fleet maintenance.
• Monitor operational costs, budgets, fuel consumption, and fleet performance.
• Ensure safety standards, regulatory compliance, and effective driver management.
• Manage fleet management systems, telematics, and data-driven decision-making.
• Coordinate with customers, transporters, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain strong knowledge of the transport broker market, freight rates, and seasonal demand and supply trends across India.
• Drive efficient and profitable transport operations, managing a minimum of 6,000 placements annually.

Preferred candidate profile

• 10+ years of experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations.
• Strong understanding of the transport broker market and pan-India logistics operations.
• Knowledge of vehicle specifications, load capacity, Full Truckload (FTL) and Partial Truckload (PTL) pricing.
• Expertise in fuel management, load optimisation, and route-level profitability.
• Experience with telematics, fleet tracking systems, and demand and supply forecasting.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
