Area Legal Manager (Bad Debt)

Role & responsibilities

• Manage legal recovery and resolution of bad debt/NPA accounts through appropriate legal actions.
• Coordinate with advocates, collection agencies, and internal teams for debt recovery and case follow-up.
• Draft, review, and issue legal notices, recovery suits, arbitration matters, and enforcement actions.
• Monitor court cases, DRT proceedings, SARFAESI actions, and ensure timely legal compliance.
• Provide legal guidance to business and collections teams on recovery strategies and risk mitigation.
• Prepare MIS reports, track recovery progress, and ensure achievement of legal recovery targets.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Law (LLB preferred) with experience in debt recovery and litigation.
• Strong knowledge of SARFAESI Act, DRT proceedings, arbitration, and recovery laws.
• Good negotiation, stakeholder management, and analytical skills with willingness to travel extensively.
