Role Overview The Area HR will act as a strategic and operational HR partner for retail store operations across the assigned geography. The role is responsible for managing the
entire employee lifecycle of frontline retail staff —from hiring to exit—while ensuring high employee engagement, compliance, and seamless HR service delivery.
Key Responsibilities 1. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Drive end-to-end recruitment for store-level roles (Sales Associates, Store Managers, Supervisors, etc.)
- Manage talent pipelines through vendors, job portals, walk-ins, and local sourcing
- Ensure timely onboarding and smooth joining experience
- Coordinate induction and orientation programs for new hires
2. Employee Lifecycle Management
- Handle complete employee lifecycle:
Hire → Onboard → Develop → Retain → Exit
- Maintain employee records, documentation, and HRIS updates
- Monitor probation confirmations, transfers, promotions, and separations
- Ensure smooth offboarding and exit formalities
3. Performance Management
- Support implementation of performance appraisal processes for retail staff
- Track performance metrics (sales KPIs, productivity, etc.) in collaboration with business teams
- Assist in identifying high performers and managing underperformance
4. Employee Engagement & Retention
- Plan and execute engagement initiatives across stores
- Conduct regular store visits and employee connects
- Address employee grievances and workplace concerns
- Drive retention strategies for frontline workforce
5. Attendance, Payroll & Compliance
- Oversee attendance, leave management, and payroll inputs
- Ensure adherence to statutory compliances (Shops & Establishment Act, labour laws, PF, ESIC, etc.)
- Support audits and ensure documentation readiness
- Monitor adherence to company HR policies and processes
6. Training & Development
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate training for store employees
- Facilitate induction and refresher training programs
- Support capability building initiatives for front-end staff
7. HR Operations & Reporting
- Manage HR dashboards and workforce analytics (attrition, hiring TAT, absenteeism, etc.)
- Provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders
- Improve HR processes and drive efficiency at store level
8. Business Partnering
- Act as a bridge between store operations and corporate HR
- Support store managers on people-related matters
- Drive a strong people culture aligned with business goals
Qualifications & Experience
- MBA / PGDM in HR or related field
- 4–8 years of HR experience, preferably in Retail/QSR/Frontline workforce management
- Experience handling high-volume hiring and field HR operations
