Area Business Manager

Role Summary

Own the day-to-day business engine behind Nourish's personalized gummies across Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore - from production planning and vendor relationships to sales growth and customer experience.

About the Product and Technology

Nourish makes personalized gummies on imported 3D printers, up to seven nutrient layers each. They are sugar-free and vegan, and sold through Apollo Pharmacy and other retail. Printers, spares and materials are imported, so supply planning matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage operations: production scheduling, inventory, procurement, and order fulfillment - in Hyderabad, and through local partners in Chennai and Bangalore.
• Own the P&L - track revenue, costs, and margins; report monthly business performance.
• Manage supplier and printer-vendor relationships, including imported spares, cartridges, and materials (lead times, customs, cost); negotiate pricing and contracts.
• Drive sales and marketing: D2C site, retail/wholesale partnerships (including Apollo Pharmacy), seasonal campaigns.
• Recruit, onboard, and manage production and support staff, including printer operators.
• Ensure regulatory, food-safety, and labeling compliance across all products and markets.
• Analyze order and customer data to spot growth opportunities and process improvements.
• Track retail stock, sell-through, returns, and expiry with each retail partner; fix slow-moving or damaged stock.

Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or related field (MBA a plus).
• 3-6+ years in business/operations management - food, CPG, D2C, or manufacturing preferred.
• Track record managing P&L, budgets, and vendor negotiations.
• Strong people-management skills; experience leading small production/ops teams.
• Data-driven, comfortable with spreadsheets/BI tools and sales reporting.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset - comfortable wearing multiple hats.
• Ready to travel across India as business needs. Working at hospital and warehouse sites is a normal part of the job.

General industry guidance for gummies. Understand how moisture, packaging and storage turn into cost and complaints.

• Moisture-sensitive product: Sticky packs, mold and short shelf life mean refunds and write-offs.
• Packaging: A large share of unit cost, and some is imported. Compare vendors on barrier quality, lead time and price. Do not trade shelf life for cost.
• Inventory and expiry: Sell oldest stock first (FEFO). Plan safety stock for import lead times. Stock points only with what sells before expiry.
• Storage and transport: Keep products cool and dry. Avoid hot vehicles and damp godowns. Check partner sites on visits.
• Compliance and labeling: Right FSSAI license and import papers. Labels and claims must match stability data. Check new claims with QC.
• Cost and margin: Cost per gummy includes ingredients, ink, packaging, rejects, expiry and import. Watch rejects and sell-through by city.
