Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by diligently investigating and resolving issues that arise within various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring system performance, identifying root causes of disruptions, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands collaboration with different teams to maintain system stability and deliver timely solutions that support business continuity and efficiency.

Roles Responsibilities:

Expected to perform independently and become an SME.

Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.

Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support of business applications.

Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions to build a knowledge base for future reference.

Assist in the continuous improvement of support processes and tools to enhance service delivery.

Provide timely updates and clear communication to stakeholders regarding issue status and resolution progress.

Key Responsibilities:
Storage Management SAN, NAS NetApp

Administer and maintain SAN environments (e.g., Brocade, Cisco MDS).

Configure and support NAS storage solutions for file services (CIFS/SMB, NFS).

Manage NetApp FAS, AFF, and ONTAP platforms, including aggregates, volumes, LUNs, and snapshots.

Provision and manage storage for Windows/Linux servers, VMware clusters, and databases.
Datacenter and Cloud Integration

Integrate NetApp storage with cloud services (Azure NetApp Files, AWS FSx for ONTAP, GCP).

Deploy and manage hybrid storage architectures using NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP.

Support storage for virtualized environments and cloud-native workloads.
Data Protection, Backup DR

Configure SnapMirror, SnapVault, and snapshots for replication and backup.

Integrate storage with backup platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik.

Support Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution, including DR drills.

Monitoring, Performance Optimization

Monitor storage performance (IOPS, latency, throughput) and capacity utilization.

Use tools like NetApp Active IQ, Cloud Insights, and OnCommand Insight for visibility.

Perform regular health checks and tuning for optimal storage performance.
Security Compliance

Manage storage-level encryption, data retention, and access controls.

Enforce storage policies that meet internal standards and external compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Documentation Support

Maintain up-to-date documentation of storage topology, runbooks, SOPs, and change logs.

Provide L2/L3 support for storage-related incidents and service requests.

Collaborate with server, network, backup, and cloud teams for cross-domain projects.

Professional Technical Skills:

Must To Have Skills:

Proficiency in Netapp Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration.

Experience with storage management, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of SAN environments.

Strong understanding of storage protocols and technologies such as Fibre Channel and iSCSI.

Ability to analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify and resolve storage-related issues.

Familiarity with backup and recovery processes within storage networks.

Knowledge of storage security best practices and data protection mechanisms.

The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Netapp Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration.

Strong experience with SAN, NAS, and NetApp ONTAP technologies.

Experience in supporting hybrid or cloud-connected storage environments.

This position is based at our Bengaluru office.

A 15 years full time education is required.

Qualification 15 years full time education
