Application Developer (Android)

We are looking for an experienced Android Application Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to building, improving, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Android application development, a good understanding of mobile application architecture, and the ability to work closely with product, design, backend, and other engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications.
• Build new features and improve existing application functionality based on product requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Work with product and design teams to translate requirements and designs into functional mobile experiences.
• Integrate Android applications with REST APIs and backend services.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application bugs and performance issues.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to improving development practices.
• Ensure applications are stable, responsive, secure, and optimised for different Android devices and versions.
• Work closely with QA teams to identify and resolve issues before releases.
• Participate in application releases, updates, and production support.
• Stay updated with relevant Android development practices, tools, and platform changes.

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of hands-on experience in Android application development.
• Strong experience with Kotlin and/or Java.
• Good understanding of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and Android development lifecycle.
• Experience building and maintaining production-grade Android applications.
• Good understanding of Android UI development and responsive layouts.
• Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and backend integrations.
• Understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture.
• Experience with common Android development libraries and frameworks.
• Good understanding of Git and version control.
• Experience with debugging, crash analysis, and application performance optimisation.
• Understanding of mobile application security and best practices.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
