Application Architect

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance application architectures aligned with business requirements.
• Define technical architecture, frameworks, design patterns, integration approaches, and technology standards.
• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise applications, microservices, APIs, and cloud-based solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, tools, platforms, and architectural solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, developers, DevOps teams, and other technical teams.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams throughout the application lifecycle.
• Ensure applications meet requirements for scalability, availability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for modernization and optimization.
• Establish and enforce coding, architecture, security, and development best practices.
• Review technical designs, conduct architecture reviews, and mentor senior developers and engineers.
• Drive cloud adoption, application modernization, DevOps, CI/CD, and automation initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain architecture documentation, technical specifications, and solution diagrams.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of experience in software development, solution architecture, or application architecture.
• Strong experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
• Hands-on expertise in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, or similar.
• Strong understanding of microservices, REST APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and system integration.
• Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and cloud-native architecture.
• Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, scalability, performance, and application security.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.
• Experience leading technical teams, mentoring developers, and driving architecture decisions.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
