API Testing Engineer

We are looking for an API Testing Engineer responsible for validating REST/SOAP APIs, ensuring application reliability, performance, and security. The candidate should have experience in manual and automated API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, Rest Assured, and JMeter.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute API test cases and test scripts.
• Validate REST and SOAP web services.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Test API request/response payloads, status codes, headers, and authentication mechanisms.
• Create and maintain API automation frameworks.
• Perform database validation using SQL queries.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams.
• Analyse API performance and reliability.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of API Testing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, or Insomnia.
• Experience testing RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, and API authentication (OAuth, JWT, Basic Auth).
• Understanding of SQL and database testing.
• Knowledge of API Automation using REST Assured, Java, Selenium, or similar tools.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
