Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute API test cases for REST and SOAP web services.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.
• Develop and maintain API automation frameworks using Rest Assured.
• Create, manage, and execute API collections using Postman.
• Validate request/response payloads, headers, authentication, and status codes.
• Perform JSON and XML schema validation.
• Analyze API logs and troubleshoot issues with developers.
• Automate API testing and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Execute database validations using SQL queries.
• Track defects and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and quality assurance activities.

Required Skills

• 3 to 8 years of experience in Software Testing with a strong focus on API Testing.
• Hands-on experience with Postman for API validation and automation.
• Strong experience in Rest Assured Framework.
• Good programming knowledge in Java.
• Experience with Maven and TestNG/JUnit.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, and status codes.
• Experience in JSON and XML validation.
• Knowledge of OAuth, JWT, Basic Authentication, and API Security Testing.
• Experience with SQL and database validation.
• Hands-on experience with defect management tools such as Jira.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter.
• Experience in microservices architecture testing.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
