API Performance Tester – APIGEE

Must Have Skills

• 4+ years of Testing REST services and API such as: Java, JSON, Python.
• 2+ years of experience in Black box and White box test – Test scripting and execution
• Experience in test data creation and comparison
• Understanding of SQL queries Hands on experience in using Postman, Curl, SOAP UI
• Understanding of testing frameworks and Awareness of BDD testing – Karate, Cucumber
• Experience in Test documentation
• Experience with performance testing of webservices
• Experience with web front-end and back-end performance tuning
• Experience in web technologies (HTTP, TSL, CSS, Web Services, etc)
• An understanding of how to translate product and business requirements into technical solutions
• Proficient with Monitoring tools Blazemeter, Introscope, Dynatrace, JProfiler, SQLprofiler, AppDynamics.
• Understanding of web application and its architecture.
• Understanding of Web Services, SOAP/XML
• Hands on experience on programming language Node/JS, Python, C, Core Java, Maven
• Hands on experience on REST ASSURED/JUnit framework for API testing
• Hands on experience on Cucumber, BDD methodology, Gherkin syntax
• Hands on experience in any Java IDE (e.g., Eclipse)
• Hands on experience on GIT, JIRA, Jenkins
• Hands on experience with Load Runner and its components, Fiddler,
• Strong knowledge on Scripting, Test execution with Performance Centre and test result analysis.
• Good Understanding of REST API types (GET, PUT, POST, DELETE) and it's workflow.
• Good understanding of HTTP, JSON protocol and syntax
• Good understanding of Message Schema, RAML, Message Request-Response mechanism
• Working experience in Agile methodology / SAFe with ‘in-sprint automation

Good To Have Skills

• Experience of test-driven development alongside the use of automated test frameworks, mocking and stubbing and unit testing tools
• Knowledge of the key phases of software delivery lifecycle and established software development methodologies
• Experience of working in an environment where products must be delivered to specific timescales
• The ability to understand and support, modify and maintain systems and code developed by other engineering teams
• Experience with Data Science, Data Visualization and Data Analytics
• Experience working with Kubernetes and with a variety of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and OCI
• Experience with any of the following tools: .Net, Perl, Ruby, Load Runner, Grinder Perl, JavaScript, Jira, TestRail, Xray, GIT, P4, Bitbucket, Jenkins

Key Responsibilities

• Work on APIGEE Implementation projects
• Testing of platforms, applications and products through pre-production environments
• Proficient in utilization of Performance testing and engineering tools
• Prepare scripts, execute tests, analyse results and participate in troubleshooting when issues are identified
• Develop performance test plan, test strategy and test recommendation documents preparation
• Provide analysis of performance testing results and provide insights into where optimization opportunities and application inefficiencies exist
• Perform pro-active performance review of production systems and provide feedback and recommendations to application teams to improve stability and performance proactively and on both a need basis
• Day-to-day collaboration with various stakeholders for performance testing related delivery tasks
• Identify suggestions for performance tuning based on performance test results
• Assist the Test Manager in the management of the test team to deliver business outcomes
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Group policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Measure the quality of an API under a given user load
• Understand the application architecture and interpret how each component of a modern system of software works
• Create a plan on how to test concurrency, arrival rates and scheduling, etc.
• Design effective tests and model loads accurately
• Automate scripts and tests
• Investigate bottlenecks and define clear steps to reproduce issues. Log issues in the bug tracking system. Synchronize and clarify bug description and severity with the respective software developers. Provide timely validation of fixed defects.
• Work with DevOps and IT teams to deploy and implement testing infrastructure
• Build subject matter expertise in various product domains and utilize this knowledge to propose and implement QA initiatives to improve test efficiency. Skills: testing,load,apigee,performance testing,api
