Role Description : This is a full-time, on-site Android Game Application Developer role based in Pune. We're looking for a highly skilled Android developer who enjoys pushing Android beyond traditional app development. In this role, you'll build and maintain high-performance Android gaming applications, integrate and customize third-party game SDKs, work with Android platform components, investigate and troubleshoot complex SDK behaviors, and solve challenging performance and rendering issues. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys experimenting with Android internals, SDK integrations, rendering pipelines, build systems, and game optimization to deliver smooth, scalable, and high-quality gaming experiences.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain high-performance Android game applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Integrate, customize, and troubleshoot third-party game SDKs, including analytics, ads, authentication, in-app purchases, cloud save, and multiplayer services.
- Build reusable SDK wrappers and integration layers for Android gaming applications.
- Work extensively with Android SDK, Android NDK, JDK, Gradle, Android Studio, and modern Android build systems.
- Debug complex runtime issues, including crashes, ANRs, memory leaks, rendering bottlenecks, and device-specific compatibility issues.
- Optimize CPU, GPU, memory utilization, battery consumption, application startup time, and frame rate performance.
- Profile and monitor application performance using Android Studio Profiler, Logcat, ADB, GPU rendering tools, and memory analysis tools.
- Collaborate with backend engineers, game designers, QA engineers, and product teams to deliver high-quality gaming experiences.
- Develop and maintain automated build, testing, signing, and release pipelines using CI/CD tools.
- Work with OpenGL ES, Vulkan, JNI, or native Android components where required.
- Investigate SDK behaviors through logging, debugging, and reverse engineering techniques to resolve integration issues.
- Stay updated with the latest Android platform releases, Google Play requirements, and mobile gaming technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional Android application development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
- Solid understanding of Android SDK, Android architecture, application lifecycle, threading, coroutines, and Jetpack components.
- Experience working with Android Studio, Gradle, JDK, dependency management, ProGuard/R8, APK/AAB packaging, and signing.
- Strong experience integrating and troubleshooting third-party Android SDKs.
- Hands-on experience with debugging tools such as Android Studio Debugger, Logcat, ADB, Profiler, LeakCanary, and memory analysis tools.
- Experience working with REST APIs, WebSockets, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Git, version control workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience publishing and maintaining Android apps on the Google Play Store.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing Android plugins for Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Hands-on experience with Android NDK and C/C++ development.
- Knowledge of JNI and native library integration.
- Experience with OpenGL ES, Vulkan, or graphics rendering optimization.
- Experience integrating Firebase, Google Play Games Services, Play Integrity API, Crashlytics, Google Mobile Ads, In-App Billing, or analytics SDKs.
- Familiarity with APK signing, app security, obfuscation, and release management.
- Experience profiling graphics performance and frame rendering optimization.
- Experience working in the gaming, AdTech, mobile application, or digital technology industry.
