About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Android Framework Developer with strong expertise in Android Open Source Project (AOSP) development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, customizing, and optimizing Android platform components, framework services, and system applications for next-generation Android-based products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Android Framework components within AOSP.
• Work on Android Platform layers including Framework, HAL, System Services, Native Services, and Linux Kernel interactions.
• Customize and integrate Android OS features based on product requirements.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve system-level issues across Android stack.
• Develop and optimize Android services, libraries, and middleware components.
• Collaborate with BSP, Kernel, Application, and Product Engineering teams.
• Perform performance tuning, memory optimization, and boot-time improvements.
• Work on Android security features, permissions, SELinux policies, and system stability.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design documentation.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Android Framework / AOSP Development.
• Solid programming skills in C/C++ or Java/Kotlin.
• Good understanding of Android Architecture:
• Application Framework
• Binder IPC
• System Services
• HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer)
• Native Framework
• Linux Kernel interactions
• Experience in modifying and building Android source code (AOSP).

Understanding of Android build systems (Soong, Make, Gradle).

• Experience working with Git and code review tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Android Automotive, TV, Embedded Android, or Consumer Electronics devices.
• Working knowledge of BSP, Device Drivers, Linux Kernel, or Middleware development.
• Exposure to Android Security, SELinux, Power Management, and Performance Optimization.
• Knowledge of Camera, Audio, Connectivity (WiFi/Bluetooth), or Display Frameworks is a plus.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, MCA or related field.
