Android Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to design, develop, maintain, and optimize high-quality Android applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, XML, RxJava, modular architecture, Dagger Hilt, custom Dependency Injection, Retrofit, and JSON-based APIs.

The candidate will work closely with product, design, backend, and QA teams to build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance Android applications.

Experience

5+ years of professional Android development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Kotlin and modern Android development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Android applications using Kotlin.
• Build modern and responsive UI using Jetpack Compose and XML layouts.
• Develop reusable UI components and maintain consistent application design.
• Implement MVVM and modular architecture for scalable and maintainable applications.
• Design and maintain multi-module Android projects with proper separation of concerns.
• Implement reactive programming using RxJava/RxAndroid where required.
• Implement Dependency Injection using Dagger Hilt.
• Design and implement custom Dependency Injection solutions when project requirements go beyond standard Hilt configurations.
• Develop and maintain REST API integrations using Retrofit.
• Work with JSON request/response models and serialization/deserialization.
• Implement robust error handling, API response handling, and network-state management.
• Work with Coroutines and Kotlin-based asynchronous programming where appropriate.
• Create reusable architecture components and common utilities.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, startup time, and battery consumption.
• Debug and resolve application crashes, ANRs, UI issues, and production defects.
• Write clean, readable, reusable, and testable code following Android and Kotlin best practices.
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
• Collaborate with backend developers to integrate and troubleshoot APIs.
• Work with Git-based version control and follow appropriate branching and code-review practices.
• Participate in requirement analysis, technical discussions, estimation, development, testing, and release activities.
• Maintain technical documentation for application architecture and important components.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a development team.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Experience delivering Android applications from development through production release.
