Analyst

Role & responsibilitie

We are looking for a skilled Nostro Reconciliation Analyst with 25 years of experience in banking operations, treasury operations, and financial reconciliation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Nostro account reconciliation, investigating unmatched transactions, resolving breaks, and ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of bank accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily Nostro account reconciliation for foreign currency and domestic currency transactions.
• Reconcile transactions between internal banking systems and external bank statements.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation breaks, unmatched entries, and outstanding items.
• Monitor inward and outward payments, SWIFT transactions, and other cross-border payment activities.
• Coordinate with correspondent banks, treasury teams, operations teams, and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
• Track aged outstanding items and ensure timely closure of reconciliation exceptions.
• Prepare daily reconciliation reports, exception reports, and MIS.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing reconciliation records and supporting documentation.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Nostro reconciliation, bank reconciliation, treasury operations, or banking operations.
• Strong understanding of Nostro and Vostro accounts and correspondent banking.
• Experience in transaction matching, exception management, and break investigation.
• Knowledge of SWIFT payments, wire transfers, foreign exchange transactions, and international banking operations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and reconciliation techniques.
• Experience working with banking systems, reconciliation tools, or transaction processing platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work within strict cut-off times and meet daily reconciliation deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automated reconciliation tools and banking platforms.
• Understanding of AML, KYC, and banking compliance requirements.
• Exposure to payment systems such as SWIFT and other cross-border payment networks.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Banking, or a related field.
