AI Workflow Automation Engineer

We are seeking an AI Workflow Automation Engineer to design, build, and optimize intelligent automation solutions for manufacturing organizations. You will help transform manual processes into scalable, AI-enabled workflows that improve operational efficiency, decision-making, and business outcomes. This role combines workflow orchestration, AI-enabled automation, system integration, and manufacturing process understanding. You will work closely with manufacturing stakeholders, AI specialists, and delivery teams to identify automation opportunities, implement solutions, and create reusable assets that accelerate future deployments. This is a high-impact role focused on delivering measurable improvements across operations, quality, maintenance, and business workflows while building scalable automation frameworks and best practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Workflow Discovery & Process Analysis - Analyze manufacturing and business processes to identify automation opportunities - Document current-state workflows and define future-state automation strategies - Prioritize initiatives based on business value, complexity, and implementation effort - Translate operational requirements into scalable automation solutions AI Workflow Development - Design and build intelligent workflows using modern automation platforms - Implement AI-enabled process automation, task orchestration, and decision support solutions - Develop integrations between AI systems, enterprise applications, and operational platforms - Create workflows that improve productivity, accuracy, and response times Systems Integration - Build integrations using APIs, webhooks, and automation platforms - Connect business applications, data platforms, and operational systems - Support workflow orchestration across ERP, MES, quality, maintenance, and production environments - Ensure reliability, scalability, and governance of automation solutions Testing & Deployment - Define measurable success criteria and performance metrics - Conduct testing, validation, and deployment activities - Monitor workflow performance and adoption - Troubleshoot and optimize automation solutions in production environments Reusable Automation Assets - Create templates, reusable workflows, automation frameworks, and accelerators - Document architecture decisions, workflows, assumptions, and implementation approaches - Build repeatable assets that reduce delivery time and improve consistency across projects Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with manufacturing leaders, operations teams, quality teams, maintenance teams, and technology stakeholders - Translate business requirements into practical automation solutions - Provide guidance on where automation and AI can create the greatest business value REQUIRED SKILLS - Workflow automation and orchestration - Workato, n8n, Power Automate, or similar automation platforms - API integrations, webhooks, and system connectivity - AI agents and intelligent automation concepts - Process mapping and workflow design - Strong written communication and asynchronous documentation - Ability to work effectively in distributed, outcome-focused teams Manufacturing Domain Knowledge - Understanding of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing concepts - Familiarity with manufacturing operations, quality, maintenance, ERP, MES, and OT/IT environments - Ability to understand and improve operational workflows - Comfortable engaging with both technical and business stakeholders PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - 6+ years in workflow automation, integration, process engineering, or related roles - Experience implementing automation solutions within manufacturing environments - Exposure to AI-enabled workflows and agent-based automation - Familiarity with Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms - Experience with integration platforms and enterprise systems WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE - AI-enabled workflows adopted by business and operations teams - Measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, response times, or productivity - Reliable automation solutions that scale across multiple use cases - Reusable workflow assets that accelerate future implementations - Strong stakeholder trust and cross-functional collaboration
