About this role
About Viamagus Viamagus Technologies is a Bangalore-based product engineering company building technology solutions across industries, with AI adoption as a core strategic direction — not just in our products, but in how we build them. We're a lean team where engineers own features end-to-end and work directly with leadership and clients.
About the Role We're hiring an
AI Native Engineer — a full-stack developer who treats AI-assisted development as the default way of working, not an occasional tool. You'll own features end-to-end (spec → build → test → deploy → monitor), build AI agents as part of our products, and use AI coding agents to build faster and better. You'll work closely with our CTO and directly with clients. This is not an "AI-curious" role. We need someone who already works this way daily, in production codebases.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end: specification, development, testing, deployment, and post-release monitoring
- Write and maintain specs/rules files (e.g. CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules, agent skill files) that direct AI coding tools for the team
- Design and build AI Agents and agentic workflows using LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or similar)
- Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as a primary part of daily development
- Practice spec-driven development — translate requirements into clear specs that guide both human and AI-driven implementation
- Design and enforce test coverage for AI-generated code — unit, integration, and regression testing
- Participate in production support: incident triage, log review, release processes
- Collaborate directly with the CTO and leadership on technical priorities
- Interface directly with clients and stakeholders — requirements gathering, demos, updates, delivery
- Ensure code quality, performance, scalability, and security across the stack
Requirements (Must-Have)
- 3+ years of full stack experience — has taken at least one product through a complete production lifecycle (build → deploy → live support/incidents), not just development-only roles
- Strong hands-on experience with React or Angular, Node.js/NestJS, Python
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and MySQL/MongoDB or SQL databases
- Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in real production codebases — not occasional/ad-hoc use
- Demonstrated experience with spec-driven development — writing specs or rules files that guide AI agents' code output
- Experience building AI Agents or agentic workflows (LangGraph, CrewAI, or custom multi-step orchestration)
- Ability to design test strategy for AI-generated code (unit, integration, regression) — not just "it compiles and runs"
- Comfortable with core Data Structures & Algorithms (arrays, hash maps, trees, basic patterns)
- Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
- Proven experience working directly with clients and stakeholders
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills — can explain technical decisions and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
Good to Have
- AI/Agentic AI certifications (e.g. IBM RAG and Agentic AI Professional Certificate, Vanderbilt AI Agent Developer, or equivalent)
- Experience with RAG pipelines or vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Understanding of authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT)
- Experience with state management libraries (Redux/NgRx)
