AI/ML Engineer (Backend)

Role & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for AI/ML-powered applications.
• Build, train, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models for production use cases.
• Take ML solutions from experimentation to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Develop REST APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data pipelines.
• Implement model versioning, tracking, monitoring, and lifecycle management using MLOps tools.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful AI solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize system performance, and ensure reliability of deployed models.
• Follow software engineering best practices including testing, documentation, and code reviews. Ideal Candidate
• Strong Backend-focused AI/ML Engineer Profile
• Mandatory (Experience 1) – Must have 1+ years building and shipping production backend / ML systems
• Mandatory (Experience 2) – Must have hands-on experience taking ML / AI models from development through deployment
• Mandatory (Skill 1) – Strong proficiency in Python with a backend framework (FastAPI / Flask / Django) and REST API development
• Mandatory (Skill 2) – Must have Hands-on Machine Learning with ML libraries (TensorFlow / PyTorch / Scikit-learn), including model training, evaluation & optimization
• Mandatory (Skill 3) – SQL and database design knowledge with sound software architecture & API design fundamentals
• Mandatory (Skill 4) – Familiarity with MLOps practices — model lifecycle, versioning & monitoring (MLflow or equivalent)
• Mandatory (Communication) – Must have strong problem-solving ability and clear technical communication
• Preferred (Frontend) – Hands-on React.js with JavaScript / HTML / CSS and frontend-to-backend integration
